Храненето в различните етапи от живота

Кучета в зряла възраст
Кучета, хранени с пълноценни и балансирани продукти, не се нуждаят от допълнително приемане на витамини, минерали или месо.
Когато кучето достигне зряла възраст, неговите хранителни нужди се променят и то трябва да започне да приема храна, която отговаря на тези нужди. Кучетата с нормална активност, които нямат специфични нужди свързани с бременност, кърмене или здравословен проблем, трябва да приемат храна за поддържане на оптимално телесно състояние, което се характеризира с:

Кучета, хранени с пълноценни и балансирани продукти, не се нуждаят от допълнително приемане на витамини, минерали или месо. Напротив – добавките ще нарушат баланса на хранителните вещества и могат да доведат до натрупване на наднормено тегло или друг здравословен проблем. Дажбите за на кучета в зряла възраст варират в зависимост от тяхната порода, активност, метаболизъм и предпочитания на собственика. Независимо дали кучето се храни веднъж или два пъти на ден е важно да се изгради режим с определено време и място за хранене.

Бременни и кърмещи кучета
По време на бременност нуждата от хранителни вещества на женската нараства и приемът на храна трябва постепенно да се увеличава. Препоръчват се храни, съдържащи повече от 1600 калории на килограм и поне 21% съдържание на протеини. Дажбите трябва да се определят според желанието на самата женска. Не е необичайно за бременната женска да намали временно приема си на храна през първите три – четири седмици на бременността. Обикновено тя започва да яде повече през по-късния етап на бременността.

След раждането, майката се нуждае дори от по-големи количества храна, за да може да кърми малките си.
На определена възраст малките кученца се отбиват от кърмене и женската постепенно трябва да се върне към вида и количествата храна, които е приемала преди бременността.

Отказ от храна
Ако кучето не е претенциозно по отношение на храната, но в даден момент възникне проблема да отказва да се храни, е добре да посетите ветеринарен лекар за преглед и установяване на причината, тъй като всяко отклонение от нормалните хранителни навици може да е признак на заболяване. Понякога кучетата приемат дадена храна с охота за определен период и след това внезапно започват да се хранят с нежелание или отказват храна за няколко дни. Това най-често е в резултат от прекомерното приемане на калории, от които организма не се нуждае, и реакция за ограничаване приема на излишните калории. Както и при хората, преяждането е неприятно и за кучетата и причинява чувство на дискомфорт. Кучето просто се опитва да намали това чувство като яде по-малко.

Преход към нова храна
Ако поради здравословни или други причини трябва да смените хранителния режим на своето куче, направете го постепенно за период от 7 до 10 дни. Добавяйте малки количества от новата храна към тази, която кучето е свикнало да яде. Всеки ден увеличавайте количествата нова храна и намалявайте от старата. По този начин кучето по-лесно ще свикне с новия вкус и ще избегнете възникването на храносмилателни проблеми.

Малки кученца
На шест седмична възраст повечето кученца са готови за отбиване от бозаене. Ако са започнали да приемат твърда храна от паничката на майката, не е необичайно те сами да спрат да бозаят след четвъртата или петата седмица след раждането. Малките кученца трябва да се хранят със специално предназначени за техните нужди храни най-малко по три пъти на ден. Постепенно броят хранения може да бъде сведен до две на ден след навършване на четири-пет месечна възраст, а след осмия месец кученцата могат да се хранят и само по веднъж на ден. Прясна вода в чиста купичка трябва винаги да стои до купичката с храна, за да може кученцето да пие, когато пожелае. Ако кученцето приема трудно сухата храна, може да използвате топла вода или мляко, за да я навлажните и по този начин да окуражите малкото да се храни. Трябва да се има предвид, че млякото може да причини хранителни разстройства, ако приеманото количество е твърде голямо.

Добре е да изградите хранителен режим на кученцето – по едно и също време и на едно и същи място. Не бива да давате на кученцето остатъци от масата или друг вид храна за хора , защото по този начин ще стимулирате “просенето” на храна и ще разглезите кучето по отношение на храната. Кучетата, които се хранят балансирано, не се нуждаят от хранителни добавки като витамини, минерали или месо.

Възрастни кучета
По дефиниция като възрастни се определят кучета, които са достигнали последните 25 % от очакваната им продължителност на живот. При различните породи староста се достига на различна възраст:

При дребните породи - над 12 години

При средните породи - над 10 години

При едрите породи - над 9 години

При гигантските породи над 7 години

Основните признаци на остаряването са:

Промяна в теглото: отслабване или напълняване

Затруднено движение

Отслабване на зрението и слуха

Промени в състоянието на козината и кожата

Лош дъх, свързан с проблеми със зъбите и венците

Съвременните индустриално приготвени храни за възрастни кучета предоставят всички необходими хранителни вещества в пропорции, съобразени с променените нужди на тези кучета. При възрастните кучета се наблюдава намаляване на активността и приемането на висококалорични храни, би довело до натрупване на наднормено тегло и здравословни проблеми.

Факти за храненето на кучето

Много стопани на домашни любимци не осъзнават, че хората и кучетата имат различни хранителни нужди. Това означава, че ако дадено куче се храни с остатъци от масата или друг вид човешка храна, може да възникнат здравословни проблеми, като наднормено тегло или определени болести свързани с храненето. Кучетата се нуждаят от пълноценна и балансирана храна, съобразена с особеностите на техните организми и метаболизъм. Качествените индустриално приготвени храни са специално разработени, за да отговорят на нуждите на кучетата, като в същото време са изключително удобни и ви спестяват време и усилия. Добре е да изградите хранителен режим за вашето куче, за да избегнете натрупването на излишни килограми. Най-добре е да храните кучето си по време на вашата закуска или вечеря. Следвайте инструкциите върху опаковката на храната и позволявайте на кучето си да се храни само по 15 мин, след което отстранявайте купичката с храна.

Знаете ли че:
Млякото е храна , не заместител на водата.
Честото добавяне на сурови яйца към храната може да доведе до дефицит на биотин, което води до дерматит, загуба на козина и забавен растеж.
Някой сурови риби водят до загуба на витамина тиамин .Симптомите за дефицит на тиамин са загубата на апетит, слабост, припадане и дори смърт.

Суровото месо съдържа паразити и бактерии и не е източник на балансиран хранителен режим. Въпреки че, месото е източник на протеини, то има малки количества калций, минерал, от който кучетата се нуждаят за правилен растеж на зъбите и костите.

Суровият дроб , даван ежедневно в големи количества , може да доведе до отрязване на витамин А .Малки и меки кости /като тези от пиле или свинско/ никога не трябва да се дават на кучето , тъй като могат да заседнат в гърлото му.

Как да си изберете храна за кучето

Видове храни
Трите основни вида храни за кучета са суха, полу- влажна и консервирана. Класифицират по влажност, цена, вкусови качества и хранителни вещества на килограм или грам храна. За да изберем най-подходящата диета за кучето трябва да обмислим тези фактори.

Консервирани храни
Тези храни предлагат най-високи вкусови качества сравнени с полу-влажните и сухите продукти. Веднъж отворена, консервираната храна трябва да се съхранява в хладилника за не повече от три дена.

Сухи храни
Сухите храни се състоят от хрупкави кубчета, които спомагат за разграждането на плаката и зъбния камък . Тези харни също така остават по-дълго свежи от полу- влажната и консервираната храна след като се отворят.

Специализирани храни

През последните няколко години в нашата страна се появиха разнообразни, фабрично произведени храни. На базата на лични контакти с водещите световни фирми и анализите и съпоставянията, които наши специалисти са направили, те препоръчват на притежателите на кучета да използват за своите любимци храната на Purina (САЩ), Royal Canin (Франция), Bosch (Германия), Bento (Белгия). Има и други фирми, произвеждащи храни с не по-лошо качество, които също могат да се препоръчат, но за жалост те не са известни в нашата страна. Това са Shur-Gain (Канада), Bewital petfood (Германия), Mera Dog (Германия), Columbia River Natural (Германия), Diana (Германия), Magnum (САЩ), Morando (Италия) Arden Grange (Великобритания), Friskies и др. Значителни успехи в производството на качествени храни постигнаха редица фирми в Чехия и Унгария.

На пазара се срещат и храни за кучета - българско производство. Някои от тях са проверявани от наши известни специалисти. В повечето случаи хранителната им стойност по отношение на кучешкия организъм е нищожна. Има и такива, чиито производители ги рекламират по образец на водещите световни фирми и парадират за лабораторно доказан висок процент на усвояемост. Група български биолози провежда през 1997 г. експеримент с българска гранулирана храна, който бил повтарян няколкократно до 2000 г. Освен чрез директно изхранване, гранулите са били подложени и на химичен анализ. Констатирано е разминаване между лабораторните данни и посоченото в придружаващата реклама. В опитите, свързани с консумация, част от кучетата от опитната група въобще не проявявили интерес, а други само след няколко хранения отказват да ядат и предпочитат гранулираната храна на кучетата от контролната група. При някои от опитните животни (кахетични, живяли като безпризорни до започване на експеримента) се наблюдава спадане на апетита, но стремежът към храната се запази през целия контролен период. При тях обаче, настъпва алиментарни аномалии, изразени в стомашно-чревно разстройство. Като контролна храна (спрямо която съпоставях българските гранули, заложени в опита) използвани са Purina, Bosh, Bento и Friskies. За отбелязване е, че някои от опитните кучета предпочитат да консумират кухненски отпадъци вместо заложените в опита български гранули. През 2000 г. е направен опит с друга храна, произведена от същия производител. В един от случаите учените не успяват да направят никаква констатация, тъй като кучетата от опитната група отказвали напълно да консумират предоставените им гранули.

Причината за ниската хранителна стойност на българските храни е в преобладаването на непълноценни компоненти, които не са в състояние да задоволят организма с Белтъчини и Мазнини от животински произход, за каквито е пригодена храносмилателната система на кучето. Растителните храни, като основен носител на Въглехидрати и частично необходимата за храносмилането целулоза, се явяват като добавъчни. В повечето български продукти те имат водещ характер. Това прави дажбата нискоенергийна и излишнообемна, което се отразява както върху физиологията на кучето, така и върху неговото здраве и оптимална ползователност.

Хранително отравяне

В момента, в който се усъмните, че вашият любимец се е отровил, веднага потърсете помощ от ветеринарния лекар. В тази ситуация всяка минута може да бъде фатална. Подробно разкажете на лекаря си какво ви кара да се съмнявате, какво в поведението на животното ви притеснява. В никакъв случай не прибягвайте до домашните начини на лечение като подсолена вода и топла бира.

Разходка през зимата

Тротоарите, посипани със сол са опасни не само за автомобилите и обувките, но и за кучешките лапи. Солта, останала върху тях, може да остане причина за сериозно заболяване, затова след всяка разходка трябва лапите на кучето да се измиват с топла вода със сапун. За да намалите съприкосновението на солта и уличната мърсотия с възглавничките на лапите и да не се дразни кожата, е необходимо козината между пръстите да се подстриже преди зимата.

Запомнете

1. Не хранете с кучешка храна котката и обратно. Кучешкото меню е по-малко енергетично от котешкото. Ако писаната яде кучешка храна, ще гладува. В обратния случай кучето ще се прехранва.
2. Храните са специфични за възрастта, състоянието на здравето и размера на животното.
3. Специализираните Храни биват три вида: сухи – до 10% съдържание на влага, полусухи – до 20%, и консервирани.
4. Не трябва след хранене да остава храна в паничката на вашия любимец.
5. Консервите от хладилника задължително се подгряват.
6. Сухата храна може по желание да се смесва с топла вода.
7. Количеството храна за денонощие обикновено е изписано на опаковката и е разчетена за теглото на любимеца ви.
8. Не се препоръчва да се смесва оригиналната храна с други натурални продукти – ще се наруши баланса на животното.
9. Вашите любимци винаги трябва да имат Чиста и Прясна Питейна Вода.
10. Преди покупка на храна направете няколко проучвания: Разгледайте всички храни и производители. Запознайте се със състава. Питайте за цената. Обикновено скъпите професионални храни са по икономични.
11. Разбира се, най-важното е вашите домашни любимци да харесват това, което им предлагате, за да бъдат здрави и ви радват по-дълго.

Храната

Храната трябва да е разнообразна. В опитни условия е установено, че при консумация само на мазнини смъртта настъпва след 65-70 дни. При хранене само с белтъчини смъртта настъпва след 35-40 дни и при хранене само с въглехидрати - след 30-35 дни.
През зимните месеци количеството на мазнините в ежедневната дажба се увеличава. През лятото количеството се намалява, но не трябва да спада под 1 гр на килограм тегло.

Основна храна за кучето е месото и субпродуктите. Както вече беше отбелязано, в дажбата е неотменно и наличието на храни от растителен произход. Това са различни видове брашна, зеленчуци, плодове, кореноплоди. Освен по разнообразие на продуктите и ниво на сухото вещество, дажбата трябва да е балансирана и по отношение на минералните вещества и витамините

Храни от животински произход. Характеризират се с богато съдържание на белтъчини, мазнини, минерални вещества и са високо калорични.
Месото (Holme, 1982) от различните животни, без лойта, съдържа до 25% белтъчини, от 2до 9% мазнини и до 75% вода. Усвояемостта му е 95-99%. Не по-малко от 25% от месото трябва да се дава в сурово състояние, след като предварително е проверено от ветеринарномедицинско лице.

Костите са бедни на белтъчини, но са богати на минерални вещества. Съдържат около 34% калций и 18-19% фосфор. По съдържание на калций и фосфор 15 гр кости се равняват на 1 кг месо. Като самостоятелна храна не се използват, но задължително трябва да присъстват в менюто. Особено необходими са за млади и растящи кучета, бременни и кърмещи. Не бива да се злоупотребява с консумацията им. Те обременяват храносмилателната система и предизвикват обстипация.

Животинските мазнини са богати на енергия, високо калорични са и съдържат в големи количества мастноразтворими витамини. Мазнина, в която е пържено не се дава на кучета. Тя е наситена с токсични вещества, включително и канцерогени.

Млякото е основна храна за малките кученца. Бедно е на желязо и витамин D, но е добър източник на калций, фосфор, висококачествени белтъчини, мазнини, въглехидрати, витамин A и витамини от групата B

Яйцата са добър източник на желязо, белтъчини, рибофлавин, фолиева киселина, витамин B12, витамин A, витамин D, витамин C, въглехидрати. Количеството на витамините от групата B е по-голямо в жълтъка. Кучетата не трябва да се хранят със суров яйчен белтък

Храни от растителен произход. Богати са на въглехидрати и витамини. Усвояват се до 80-90% от организма на кучетата. Необходимо е да се подлагат на предварителна термична обработка поради трудната смилаемост на влакнините.

Водата

При настъпване на общо обезводняване на организма (дехидратация) възниква жажда. Централните нервни механизми, които регулират съдържанието на вода в организма се намират в хипоталамуса на междинния мозък, в лимбичната област и в мозъчната кора. Съвкупността на тези нервни механизми обособяват така наречения “център на жаждата”. Стимулите за пиене на вода се появяват, когато около 1% от вътреклетъчната вода напусне клетката. Загубата на телесна вода в количество, равно на 0,5% от теглото на кучето, е прагът, при който възникват стимули за пиене.

Водата е основна съставна част на организма. В различна степен се съдържа във всички хранителни продукти. Немското овчарско куче приема дневно около 2-3 л вода. Това количество не е постоянно и зависи от редица фактори. При усилена работа и в горещите дни нуждата се увеличава. Потребността от вода се променя и от физиологичното състояние на животното - болест, бременност, лактация. По-темпераментните кучета пият по-често вода. Количеството на приетата вода е по-голямо, когато кучето се храни с гранули. Информацията за сухостта на храната се предава от рецептори, които са разположени в устната кухина и глътката.

Кучетата пият вода бързо, на големи глътки, като подвиват езика си подобно на лъжица (лочат).

Meat treats are freeze dried in other facilities in the US & Canada, then packaged at Dr. Harvey's plant in NJ.
All of the meat products are made in the US.
Some of the fruits in bird products are imported from South America and Turkey, from companies that sell these foods for humans.
Dr. Harvey's does not private label foods for other companies.

The only gluten we use is corn gluten and it is from in Hammond, IN and Iowa.
Only ingredients from China are glucosamine and taurine (a pet food and human food industry standard).
Vitamins sourced from BASF, a recognized & respected vitamin source. However, even they must buy some vitamins from China, as do the other respected vitamin companies.

Duck Meal is from Europe and is EU Certified. Anchovy and Sardine from the Humboldt Current area (This can vary slightly but they are from clean ocean waters and the meal is preserved naturally).
Salmon from the Pacific Ocean. Lamb meat is imported from New Zealand and/or Australia.

Triumph cuts in gravy 3oz. pouches for cats do have wheat gluten but these have temporarily been stopped for sale until we verify gluten source and/or that gluten has tested 100% melamine free. All other Triumph is 100% wheat free.
We have documentation that our raw materials are melamine free regardless of meat/poultry/fish/rice/etc.
We feel no chance of cross contamination as we have tested both Triumph and Evolve at independent labs via a blind sample submission and found NO melamine.
Sunshine Mills produces and distributes Triumph/Evolve/Hi-Tor via an agreement with Companion Brands LLC.

First Mate Pet Food

Brands include Firstmate, Skoki, Wholesome Ultra, and organic salmon feed.
They own and operate their own production facilities in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
The only imported ingredient is lamb meal sourced from Australia. All other ingredients are sourced from Canada and the USA.
Corn gluten is used in some of their cat food formulations. The corn gluten is sourced from a manufacturer in Minnesota, not an importer.
No rice protein concentrate or wheat glutens are used in any products.
Company has tested for melamine and cyanuric acid. The test results have been negative. They do not test for acetaminophen.
First Mate is a family owned company. Taplow Ventures Ltd operates under the trade name Taplow Feeds and Firstmate Pet Foods.
